It's Been A While

So, it's been sometime. Not that I haven't been writing. It's just that I've been mostly writing poetry lately. It seems like I was in this place where the words just wouldn't come for my next blog entry. I'm pretty sure many writers have been here before. Anyways, what's new? Well, I've learned so much about myself lately. I believe you never really stop discovering new things about yourself. Just because we're such a complex species. These new discoveries sort of taught me what my boundaries were. And at the same time, I questioned whether it was ok to be as determined and precise about what I want and what I would except in my life. Isn't there any room for the gray? The in between?
What I've learned about the gray is that it's a place where indecisiveness can often take center stage. It's the safe place, the middle. When you are in the middle  you're not on the right nor the left. In other words, you don't quite own a definite place. And what I've found is that most people are comfortable in the middle. In this place there's no demand to produce who you are.
The best example of someone whose definite in all He is and says is Christ. He definitely is one  the most controversial men to ever walk this earth. He definitely died because of who He said He was. He definitely performed miracles. He definitely pushed the boundaries of religion and traditional perceptions.  most of all. He definitely died on the cross to save the world. There was no middle ground where Christ was concerned. All of the followers of Christ during the period of the early church were definite in character. Christ introduced Himself to them in different ways. But once the gospel was received they became followers of Christ completely...totally. Their lives were definitely for Christ's use and His alone.
So, ultimately I'm learning to become more definite in all I say and do. The middle place isn't necessarily right or wrong. But it can keep you stationary, never growing past mediocrity. A life in Christ requires you to be definite. Christ wanted to know from His discipes, "Who do men say I am?" His disciples anwered... But it meant more to Christ to know definitely who His followers said/believed He was. To say the least, for a believer the middle, the gray, is an unsafe place. I challenge you to find your definite place in Christ, take it, own it, most of all, live it.
Until next time, Peace
